Back to BLOG Written on 04-Jun-2008 by BarbaraLassiterLast night our monthly meeting took place and we heard in person from Warrick about the good news which was posted here a few days ago that the Scenic Rim Council will be recommending to the State Parliament that part of the the money for funding allocations for Q150 (Queensland 150 year celebration)should be allocated to the restoration of the Zamia. So, being in a good mood, we took time out to raise a glass for the best news we have heard for the Zamia in nearly two years.
We heard about the upcoming rehearsed play reading of Frank's play "Grave Consequences" which will take place on Saturday, 28 June at the Vonda Youngman Community Centre.
We also discussed the last weekend's brainstorming session and it has been agreed that, towards the end of November we will probably hold a variety show and combine it with a local offering of "Tamborine Mountain's Got Talent". I will be co-ordinating it, with help from Warrick and anyone else who is interested. We will be looking for three good judges and an excellent prize as an incentive; so, ideas, please.
